From the first trip onto Sapelo Island in 2020—What began as a standalone story idea with my Shiloh characters turned into the story of the Spalding legacy on the island and in Darien, and became The Last Laird of Sapelo three years later. When a story haunts a writer, the author must write that story.
More about the visit to Sapelo Island visit, some interesting facts that launched the research and ultimately the historical novel, The Last Laird of Sapelo. Maybe Theo & Liddy will visit Darien and Sapelo Island in the future. In the meantime, make Darien a future place for you to visit.
