History Matters: 200 year-old Tabby Strain Warehouse Restoration Update

This landmark building overlooks Darien’s waterfront where at one time ships from all over the world docked and harvested crops of cotton, sugar, and the like stored in the Strain warehouse ended up in cargo holds bound for to ports ups nd down the coast or even across the Atlantic.

When the restored Strain reopens it will reveal its new business purpose, a brewery and history center for visitors to Darien, Georgia to enjoy. Milan & Marion Savic are the proud owners of the Strain building and have invested in the restoration of Darien’s historic waterfront, where upon a time, this once proud and thriving port city on Georgia’s coast rivaled even Savannah and Charleston.
