Dana spent most of her FBI career as an undercover operative, infiltrating criminal organizations including the Animal Liberation Front, an organization of domestic terrorists. Her first novel, Behind The Mask, is fiction but introduces Lexie Montgomery, a character based on Dana’s personal experiences working as an undercover agent in the world of domestic terrorism. In addition to winning numerous literary awards, Kirkus Reviews awarded Behind The Mask the coveted Kirkus star and named the book one of the best indie books of 2016. Beyond The Cabin followed and won the 2018 Royal Palm Literary Award for best thriller or suspense novel. Below The Radar, the third book in the series, was the 2020 Readers’ Favorite Gold Medal Winner in the Fiction – Thriller – Terrorist genre as well as the 2021 Feathered Quill Book Awards Gold/First Place winner for best Adult Fiction. Regarding, Dana’s compelling Lexie Montgomery thrillers, her firsthand knowledge and past personal engagement as an undercover FBI agent stirs the reader’s imagination unlike other crime novels you may have read. I personally have read all three of her novels and know why they have all won multiple literary awards. I dare you to begin reading the first, Behind the Mask–it won’t be the last! T. M. Brown

Don’t forget: April 12th is the 6:30 PM Virtual HNN Writers Meeting with Angie Gallion. April 24th is the 11:00 AM In-Person HNN Writers Newnan Meeting with Mike Brown at Corner Arts Gallery & Studios.

Order Dana’s books as our way of thanking her for offering this FREE workshop!

HNN Writers Group Begins

HNN Writers Group: Writers Helping Writers begins in 2021!

Join today to discover quarterly workshops for writers of all levels of experience. Every month there are virtual and in-person small groups of writers gathering to exchange and discuss their writing projects.

January 21st at 6:30 PM will be the first of four quarterly workshops co-hosted by the Newnan Carnegie Library and Hometown Novel Nights This first inaugural workshop will be broadcast live on Zoom – get your broadcast link by registering here to register on Eventbrite or go to HNN Writers .

Locally, author collaborative/critique groups will be available to meet on a monthly basis beginning in February. Share your latest scene or article with other writers for feedback and advice. Talk about editing, story elements, queries, publishing, event planning, etc. Share ideas and links to helpful websites to help one another become better writers.

There is no cost other than your investment in becoming the best writer you can be.
